The Legal Services Centre is most often the first contact point for individuals requiring assistance in resolving legal issues. For Albertans who qualify under the eligibility guidelines, we offer legal representation through an assigned lawyer. Service information is located to the left.
Your first step
If you would like to speak to a representative or to initiate service, you need to call or visit one of Legal Aid Alberta’s offices.
To determine if you are eligible for legal representation through Legal Aid Alberta, we consider both financial and service eligibility. Read more about eligibility. When you call or go to a Legal Services Centre, a Legal Services Officer will work with you to complete an assessment to determine the nature of the issue and the type of service required.
Not all services provided by Legal Aid Alberta are free, which will be explained by a Legal Services Officer.
